Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026 (AI and notifications)
Boardly (“the app”) is made by Solution Forest Limited (“we”). This policy explains what data the app handles. The short version: we don't collect any of your data.
What we collect
Nothing. Boardly has no servers, no user accounts of its own, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We never receive your GitHub data or your sign-in token.
How the app works with GitHub
- You sign in with your GitHub account using GitHub's OAuth device flow. GitHub issues an access token to the app.
- The token is stored only in the iOS Keychain on your device. It is never sent anywhere except to GitHub's API.
- The app sends requests directly from your device to GitHub (
api.github.com) to read and update your projects and issues. That data is covered by GitHub's Privacy Statement. - If you tap an AI button (“Write it for me”, “Suggest steps”, “Summarize”), the text of that issue and its comments is sent to GitHub Models (
models.github.ai), GitHub's AI service, with your GitHub token. Nothing is sent to AI unless you tap one of these buttons. - If you turn on Alert me in the background, iOS periodically wakes the app to check your GitHub notifications and shows local alerts. This happens on your device; there is no push server.
- The app asks for these GitHub permissions:
repo(read and edit issues),project(read projects and move cards) andread:org(list your organizations' projects).
Data stored on your device
- Your GitHub access token, in the Keychain.
- App preferences, such as whether you've seen the intro and the repository you last created an issue in.
- In demo mode, sample data is kept in memory only and is never sent to GitHub.
Removing your data
Sign out in the app to delete the token from your device. Deleting the app removes all its local data. You can also revoke Boardly's access at any time in GitHub under Settings → Applications → Authorized OAuth Apps.
Website
This website is a static site. It uses no cookies and no analytics. The live demo stores its sample board in your browser's local storage only.
Children
Boardly is not directed at children under 13. It requires a GitHub account, and GitHub has its own age requirements.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
